Chapter History
Blue Ridge Alumnae originally was chartered in 2002. While we do not have much information on the early days of the chapter we know that there must have been a zeta or two that must have had the same vision as we have today; and we are grateful to get to pick up where they left off to continue our sisterhood in the blue ridge mountains.
In 2011 Shelley Musso Jones moved to Hendersonville, North Carolina. At that time the Blue Ridge chapter was inactive. A native to North Carolina and a graduate of UNC-Charlotte (Eta Tau Chapter of ZTA), Shelley sought out one of her former collegiate sisters Stephanie Edwards. Together they reached out to local zeta alumnae. Through perseverance they held interest meetings, emailed members, and located many folks via social media to form a group large enough to reinstate the chapter's charter.
In the fall of 2013 the Blue Ridge, NC chapter was reinstated. The first members in no particular order were Rhiannon Rembish, Becky Donatelli, Brenda Asplund, Lindsay Stanford, Leilani Rabourn, Lauren Link, Debbie Cooke, Kay Fenton, Stephanie Edwards, Andrea Robel, Angela Utz, Sarah Hamlin, Carolyn Weidner, Barbara Garguilo, and Shelley Jones. Many of these sisters are still living in the area and a part of the chapter.
As we continue to write our story we are so grateful for the many new faces that have joined us and help us to strive for greatness here in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
